An old-timey photoshoot at Café Charlotte with friends, old and new
by Joan Perry | Contributing Writer
Wandering into our new European style cafe — Café Charlotte on Orleans Road, I spotted the vintage cash register, telephone and newsstand, and immediately had an idea to stage a vintage photo op. Owners, Tom and Rachel Eichhorn, along with their family Ben, Talya, and Maya recently relocated to Charleston from Germany, and had newspapers, books, and china that closely matched the vintage Café images
I quickly pulled up on a Google search. It was too good to resist. I tempted friends with strudel, croissants, and babka and they showed up with authentic-looking cigarette holders, mink stoles, hats, and a ukulele. We had such fun and enjoyed a tasty lunch. The props are there, for you to recreate your own shoot.
