You Be The Chemist!

Three 7th grade CE Williams Middle School for Creative and Scientific Arts students recently competed against three students from Buist Academy in the district “You Be A Chemist” Challenge.
Brianna Otero, Madison Kogler, and Preslie Pippin under the guidance of 7th grade science teacher Lindsey Gianoukos participated in the competition.
Students tested their knowledge of chemistry and a range of other science facts. The quiz bowl-style competition is a national contest with more than 30 states participating this year.
The purpose of the Challenge is to encourage educators and students to learn more about how chemistry shapes our world. Preslie Pippin, who placed third in the competition, will be advancing to the state competition in Columbia on April 25. Winners from the state competition will then compete at the national level.
