Popular series returns to Old Towne Creek County Park for two September dates

West Ashley’s newest public park is giving visitors a couple of reasons to stick around until sunset this September.
Wine Down Wednesday returns to Old Towne Creek County Park on Sept. 9 and Sept. 23, offering an evening of wine, live music, food trucks, and a chance to explore the recently opened 67-acre park along Old Towne Road.
The Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission launched the series at the park last month, with the Aug. 26 event selling out in advance. The two September gatherings will run from 5-7 p.m.
Wine Down Wednesday gives guests a chance to wander the park’s trails and boardwalks, take in its marsh views, or settle beneath the property’s live oaks while enjoying wine and live music.
The Sept. 9 event will feature music from Josh Michum, with food available for purchase from Lib’s Diner and Tamashii. On Sept. 23, Hollyn Belle Hills and Riley Hills will perform, with & Lobster and Pizza de Michelino serving food.
Old Towne Creek County Park officially opened June 30, adding a significant new public greenspace in the heart of West Ashley. In addition to trails, boardwalks, and marsh views, the park features a nature-inspired playground and educational elements highlighting the property’s history and ecology.
Guests are encouraged to bring chairs or tables and may bring their own food, although outside alcohol is prohibited. Dogs are welcome but must remain leashed.
Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 the day of the event, if available, and include wine. Admission is free for guests who will not be drinking alcohol. A valid ID is required for alcohol service.
Wine Down Wednesday will be held Wednesday, Sept. 9 and Sept. 23, from 5-7 p.m. at Old Towne Creek County Park, located at 1400 Old Towne Road. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 day-of, if available.
