Several sources within the city and close to the deal, have said that an agreement between Warner “Turky” Burky, his daughter and the city that could see the parcels of land he purchased along Savannah Highway become the new home of Turky’s Towing.
Two weeks ago, the city planning commission declined to recommend the property be annexed into the city because of concerns the business would use a back entrance on Pebble Drive. That road is replete with houses and apartment complexes and kids.
Neighbors showed up at the commission’s meeting to complain and voice concern.
According to those sources, the Burky clan will not only allow for a city easement along the back side of the property, but will agree not to use Pebble Drive at all. City Council will meet the second Tuesday of September and could resolve on the matter then.
