With City of Charleston residents going to the polls to elect a new mayor on Tuesday, Nov. 3, the six candidates for the city’s top seat will have two chances to reach the ever-import West Ashley voters this week.
First a mayoral candidate forum will be held on Thursday, Oct. 22, focusing on “Law & Justice.” The discussion will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. at Founder’s Hall at Charles Towne Landing, 1500 Old Towne Road.
All six candidates have committed to participating in the forum. This event is intended to give the public insight on how the mayoral candidates feel about issues related to law and justice. Written questions will be gathered from forum participants and answered by each of the candidates.
The event is co-sponsored by the Charleston County Bar Association, South Carolina Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, Charleston School of Law, Charleston Area Justice Ministry, League of Women Voters Charleston Area, and Thurgood Marshall Society.
