The 2nd Grade classes at Ashley River Creative Arts Elementary School held their 7th annual “Souper Bowl of Caring”, a food drive to benefit the Low Country Food Bank.  The students made posters, decorated collection boxes, and created commercials for the school news show promoting their fundraiser. Ashley River students, families, and friends sent in donations over a two-week period in late January and early February.
The 2nd graders collected more than 24 boxes of food and canned goods, along with money in the amount $1,263 to help with the efforts of the Low Country Food Bank to feed the hungry in the Charleston area.
Over the past 7 years, the 2nd graders at Ashley River have collected more than $8,700.00 and 3,000 pounds of food for the Low Country Food Bank.
