July 31 | SIMPLE ASSAULT
At approximately 1 a.m. an officer responded to an Ashley River Road bar in response to a physical altercation between a male and female. The female’s friend said they were at the bar when she and her friend were approached by the suspect and that they did not want to speak with him and then he lunged at the victim and began to strike her. She stated that the victim fell to the ground with him on top of her. She said the man struck the victim several times before the crowd pulled him off. The man fled the scene before police arrived but the bar’s general manager has access to the security camera video equipment.
July 31 | ASSUALT
The complainant said he was hanging out with his friend at a pond on Bent Hickory Drive and they were “skinning a snake for fish bait” when his friend became upset when he saw his mother pull up in a vehicle with a man that he does not like because of prior verbal arguments. He then reportedly became irate and starting cursing at his mother. The man in the car became upset that he was speaking to his mother in that manner and began arguing with him. He claims the suspect got into his face so he punched the him in his face. The suspect then picked him up from around the waist and slammed him on his head. Officers were unable to make contact with the suspect.
 
August 3 | AGGRAVATED ASSAULT 
A woman says she offered a male friend a ride home before getting in the car with her live-in boyfriend on Charlie Hall Boulevard. The man reportedly began screaming obscenities at her for offering a male a ride home. While turning onto Magwood Road, he became so upset that he pulled out his pocket knife and caused a small laceration to the right side of her neck.  She pushed him away and he kept driving. He then pulled out the knife again on her and pressed the knife against her stomach while screaming “I’m going to kill you b****, I’m going to take you out to the country and slice you up into little pieces and hide your body.” It was at that time that her male friend jumped out of the moving vehicle. She attempted to exit the vehicle and began screaming “Help me, help me, someone call  the cops.” She finally was able to rip the keys from the ignition. The man was arrested for Domestic Violence of a High and Aggravated Nature.
August 3 | CRIMINAL DOMESTIC VIOLENCE-SIMPLE ASSAULT
A Shadowmoss woman stated she was involved in a physical disturbance with her fiancé, who she said is an alcoholic. She came home to find a bottle of vodka halfway gone. She attempted to pour the rest down the drain. He reportedly became upset and began to forcibly pull the bottle out her hands and then punched her in the face with a closed fist and then slapped her face with an open fist. She said she defended herself by punching him in the mouth and yelled for her teenage son to help.
August 3 | SHOPLIFTING
An officer was dispatched to a Citadel Mall lingerie store when two males and one female walked into the store and quickly walked out approximately five minutes later with 30 multicolored Boyfriend T Shirts valued at approximately $868 and 17 multicolored Campus T Shirts valued at approximately $475.
