Criminal domestic, simple assault
A Parkdale Drive woman told police her husband physically assaulted her by throwing her to the floor and drug her by her ankles across the living room floor after she confronted him about his drug use. Her daughter came into the room and intervened. The husband then left to drink alcohol at his mother’s home. Later, the husband returned and sat down at the kitchen table with the woman over drinks, and tried to work out the earlier incident. But, the husband became enraged again, and grabbed the woman by the neck and threw her to the floor, where she remained until she retreated to her bedroom to vomit in the corner. Later, when the woman had gotten into bed, she said the husband entered the room, his mood having changed from violent to loving, and requested intercourse. The woman said she turned over and had intercourse, without coercion, with her husband. Medical personnel said the woman had bruising all over her body.

Simple assault
A Briarcliff Drive man told police that his brother, who also lives there was inebriated and threatening the man’s dog. The man said his brother told his dog, “You’re lucky they’re here, because you’re about to die,” and then later, “As soon as they’re gone, you’re [expletive] dead.” When the man told his brother he needed to calm down, the brother shoved the man to the ground, asking, “Do you want to get laid out?

Simple assault
A juvenile boy told police that his stepfather punched him in the face after he couldn’t find an item in their home and accused the boy of taking it. Police described the boy’s nose and cheek to be bloody and swollen. The mother, unaware of the alleged incident, picked up the stepfather at a nearby grocery store and began to drive him to Walterboro, where he sometimes stayed. Along the way, he had her stop at an ATM and withdrawal $600 from one of her accounts. She then received a call from police, informing her of the alleged assault, and asking her if she wanted to press charges. She did and the stepfather allegedly threatened her while playing with a pocketknife. While stopped for gas at a North Charleston convenience store, the mother fled the car, but kept close enough to the husband to be able to tell police in which direction he went.

Simple assault
A woman told police that after she pulled up past the takeout window to wait on her meal at a Sam Ritt fast-food restaurant, the car behind her began to honk at her, telling her to move. The driver of the other car allegedly yelled, “If you can’t drive a car that big, then don’t drive it,” and then threw a drink at the woman’s car. The woman got out of her car and claimed to have then been assaulted by four women from the other car.

Assisting other agencies
Police responded to a Hoss Street home to a report of a double shooting. When they arrived at the Hoss Street address, they found a man sitting in the doorway with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to his left hand. They went to another nearby home, and found a man laying unresponsive on the ground with a firearm next to him, and with three apparent gunshot wounds: one through the abdomen, and one each in both his buttocks and thigh.

Drug equipment violation
A student at a West Ashley school was caught skipping class, and was taken to the student resource officer, whom she told she’d been shooting up “Ambien.”

Disorderly conduct
Police responded to a Hillside Drive trailer park where a woman had been banging on the doors and windows of a man’s residence, while yelling. The woman, apparently inebriated, said she was there to collect a stuffed animal she’d left there. Police attempted to give the woman a ride home, but she refused, saying she’d rather be dropped off at night at a public park.

Disorderly conduct
Staff at a Tobias Gadson Boulevard medical office reported a man in a camouflage jacket and pants, but no shirt, repeatedly knocking on doors and yelling. When staff began to ignore the man, he apparently began dancing around. When asked by police what he was doing, the man said he was there to give blood.
