February 7 Criminal domestic violence
An Ashley River Road woman told police that she and her husband got into a fight over past relationship troubles when he became “enraged” and pushed her into their tub and struck her in the face several times. The woman had a swollen left eye and a black right eye when officers arrived. She used her child’s phone to call police from outside their residence. While officers attempted to arrest the man, he backed away and then allegedly “intentionally” elbowed one of the officers in the face, causing a swollen and bloody nose. The man has two previous convictions for domestic violence in another state.
February 7 | Breaking and entering
A Savannah Highway restaurant employee reported finding a smashed window, a kicked-in interior door, and the business’ safe missing. The safe was estimated to have had close to $300 in it.
February 9 | Harassing phone calls
A Pristine View Road man said another man with a “foreign” accent continually called his house, saying that if he met him at a nearby retail store and brought $60 cash, he could win $3.5 million.
February 10 | Assisting other agencies
Local police accompanied a state constable to deliver an eviction notice to an Ashley Crossing Drive apartment where they were told by management that a couple was trying to illegally enter the unit through a window. When questioned, the pair gave multiple names, and claimed to have been the parents of one of the evicted tenants. A records check showed the man was wanted on an arrest warrant in Virginia, and the woman was placed on a no-trespass list for the complex.
February 10 | Criminal domestic violence
A Conservancy Lane man admitted to police that he had kicked his wife and pushed her out of their bed after she refused to have sex with him. The wife claimed the man also struck her, and was quite inebriated. Their daughter entered the bedroom to intervene and claimed to also have been struck.
February 11 | General information
A St. Andrews Boulevard man videotaped another man coming onto his property and removing several campaign signs supporting Donald Trump. The video also caught the other man’s license plate.
