It seems like every day a new “biergarten” opens in Charleston. And while there are other places in town with German-sounding names that even host “Oktoberfest” celebrations, there’s only one authentic German pub and restaurant. It’s Mueller’s Pub in West Ashley. And owner Alex Mueller holds it in September, when Oktoberfest is actually celebrated in his native country of Germany.
This Saturday, Sept. 20, Mueller’s Pub will open early, as always, for all the English Premier League soccer action. Then, early afternoon college football will rule the large-screen television. But at 4 p.m. the Oktoberfest festivities take center stage with Charleston’s only German music band The Hans Schmidt Band. There will be German food and beer specials and .50 cent wings all day.
Oktoberfest is this Saturday, Sept. 20 at Mueller’s Pub, located at 630 Skylark Dr. in the Quadrangle Shopping Center. For more information, contact 225-6302 or visit www.muellerspub.com or Facebook at Facebook.com/MuellersPub.Chas.
