This spring, Old Towne Creek County Park is set to be the perfect after-work spot for socializing. The popular Wine Down Wednesday series returns for the first event of 2015 on Wednesday, April 1, and the Brewsday series kicks off Tuesday, April 7.
Old Towne Creek County Park, a beautiful property in West Ashley that is not yet open to the public on a regular basis. Formerly Ashem Farm, the site was once home to Charleston preservationist Emily Ravenel Farrrow and her St. Andrews Riding Academy. The 67-acre estate is dotted with open fields mixed among groves of Live Oaks. West Ashley is not yet regularly open to the public, but on these select dates, Lowcountry residents are invited to experience the beauty of this park property. Events like” Wine Down Wednesday” and “Brewsday Tuesday” offer great opportunities for the general public to get a sneak peek.
Wine Down Wednesday will be held from 5-7 p.m. on select Wednesdays April 7, 15, and 29 at Old Towne Creek County Park. Guests will enjoy wine, hors d’oeuvres and live music while exploring the park located in West Ashley. The event series debuted in 2013 and has gained popularity since.
Returning for its second year, the Brewsday series will be held from 5-7 p.m. on select Tuesdays in April and May at the park. Brewsday Tuesday will be another great chance to get a sneak peek of this future park, while enjoying some after work social time. The event will feature live music, tasty eats from a local food truck on site, and craft beer. Admission to Brewsday is $6 per person. Charleston County residents can purchase discount tickets in advance. Food and beverages are an additional fee.
