Bring your dancing shoes to Hungry Monk Music for Brazil Fest this Saturday, March 7 from 7-10:30 p.m. for an interactive celebration of Brazilian music, dance, and merriment with the band, Porto Seguro and special guests Capoeira Charleston.
Made up of Susan Conant (flutes), John Holenko (mandolin), Tom Noren (guitar), and Jonathan Gray (bass) Porto Seguro plays Brazilian choro, bossa and samba. The music is a distinctively Brazilian combination of bravado, laid-back vibe, rhythm and soul.
Capoeira Charleston’s dancers and drummers will engage guests in a drumline, teach samba steps, and demonstrate the acrobatic art of Capoeira.
Charleston’s Caribbean Creole food truck will be selling Latin eats and beverages.
Brazil Fest will be held Saturday, March 7 from 7-10:30 p.m. at Hungry Monk Music, located at 1948 Belgrade Ave. For more information, call 571-3857 or visit www.hungrymonkmusic.com. You can also visit band’s Facebook page at PortoSeguroBand and join the Brazil Fest event.
