Crawfish are in season and Home Team BBQ wants you to get yours at the sixth annual Americana Crawfish Boil on Saturday, May 2. Also, the event’s all-Americana tradition continues with sets from Atlanta’s Chris Stalcup & The Grange, followed by local band The Travelin’ Kine, which was just named Charleston City Paper’s Best Americana Band for 2015.
Chris Stalcup’s songwriting weaves tales of loss and heartache with the seasoned talent of the Grange’s members, bringing to life an authentic Southern storytelling experience. Stalcup’s gritty vocals and all or nothing stage presence lead the band’s dynamics from a slow swampy sway to a full-blown rock ‘n’ roll free-for-all. Chris Stalcup & The Grange has opened for national acts Lucero and Shooter Jennings, among others.
For Charleston’s The Travelin’ Kine, it’s been a fast rise for the alt-country collaboration. The Travelin’ Kine has played well over 100 shows and built a resume that includes opening slots for Yarn and American Aquarium.
The Americana Crawfish Boil will be held Saturday, May 2 at Home Team BBQ, located at 1205 Ashley River Road. For more information, call 225-7427 or visit www.hometeambbq.com.
