Listening to some of the best blues and Americana music in the Southeast is not an unusual occurrence at Fiery Ron’s Home Team BBQ in West Ashley. However, listening to it while sucking the heads of some spicy crawfish is. There’s only one day every year when Home Team puts spicy Louisiana crawfish on its menu and thankfully, that day is this Saturday, May 3, from noon until 8 p.m.
Home Team’s  5th Annual All-American Crawfish Boil allows patrons to pay $10 per person and enjoy one plate of crawfish ($5 for additional plates). Sweetwater Brewing Co. will be on hand, offering $4 draft specials and samplings of their craft beer.
Charleston’s own Gaslight Street will get the live music going. Featuring the soulful vocals of Campbell Brown, Gaslight Street blends pure Southern rock with charismatic vocals, while toeing the line between blues and funk. The band’s presence in the Southeast continues to grow behind their third album “Heavy Wind,” which was released late last year. Along with Brown, Gaslight Anthem also includes drummer Stratton Moore, multi-instrumentalist Whitt Algar (organ/keys/bass), and lead guitarist Dan Wright.
The music continues  throughout the afternoon with The Burning Angels, from Athens, Ga. The Burning Angels combine traditional roots music with a harder edge, exposing the heartache, laughter, love, and struggles of the common southerner. Founder Mark Cunningham brings his old country/Americana and punk influences to the band, but The Burning Angels are committed to crafting their sound with the influences each individual member brings. They are also turning this year’s All-Americana Crawfish Boil into a release party for their newest album “American Stranger.”
In addition to the good tunes, cold brews, and delicious food, there will also be special raffles to win Bonnaroo V.I.P. Tickets, Sweetwater Brewing Co. tours, Atlanta Braves baseball tickets, and First Flush Tickets. All profits from the raffle will go to Charleston Waterkeeper, who’s mission is to protect the public’s right to clean water by identifying and addressing water pollution issues in the Charleston Harbor watershed.
