West Ashley High School science teacher Margaret Spigner was chosen as Charleston County School District’s (CCSD) Education Technician for the month of December. Spigner is the department chair of the WAHS science department, a marine biologist, and investigative research teacher, and the sponsor of the WAHS underwater robotics club, SeaPerch.
Each month Education Technology recognizes a CCSD educator that engages students through various technologies to support 21st Century learning and skill development. Winners demonstrate the ability to share ideas and make global connections while enhancing student achievement through effective technology integration.
The CCSD Education Technology department surprises teachers by recognizing them during the day in front of their peers and students. Each winner receives a framed award and a prize pack with a ticket to the Annual Google Apps for Education Summit presented by the Education Technology Team. A teacher may only receive the award one time.
