Underground Chuck’s opens in the former O’Charley’s space

from Staff Reports

Back in August, O’Charley’s on Henry Tecklenburg Drive closed its doors after more than two decades of serving West Ashley families, sports teams, and countless weeknight dinners. At the time, the company teased a brand-new concept that was already in the works. Now, that next chapter has arrived. Underground Chuck’s quietly began welcoming guests last month, and the restaurant is gearing up for an official grand opening celebration on Thursday, Dec. 4 at 4 p.m.

The new eatery aims to strike a balance between familiar comfort and something a little more adventurous. The menu centers around hearty handhelds, flatbreads, and Chuck’s signature 100 percent American Angus burgers—dishes crafted to appeal to both die-hard food lovers and casual diners looking for an easy night out. Inside, the atmosphere trades the old chain-restaurant feel for a more laid-back, neighborhood vibe, making it an inviting spot to bring the kids, watch a game, or unwind after work.

Local beer lovers will also find plenty to toast to. Underground Chuck’s features an impressive lineup of Charleston brews on tap, including favorites from Edmunds Oast, Holy City, Munkle Brewing, Snafu, and West Ashley’s own, Frothy Beard, with additional rotating taps. A newly launched happy hour offers a mix of food and drink specials, giving West Ashley residents another reason to drop in.

Underground Chuck’s is located at 2126 Henry Tecklenburg Dr. For more information, call (843) 763-5870 or visit www.undergroundchucks.com.
