The Charleston County School District’s Department of Educational Technology has created a new initiative to recognize teachers who implement innovative technology to promote 21st century skills in the classroom and engage their students. Teachers will be nominated monthly by fellow administrators and colleagues and one teacher will be selected each month to receive this award.
In April, Sherry Musci of St. Andrews School of Math and Science received the award for her innovative technology and integrating STEM in the classroom. STEM is an acronym referring to the academic disciplines of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Mrs. Musci has created a personalized learning environment utilizing all the available technology to create a true student-centered classroom.
