Amore Healing Kitchen hires local chef Mimi Kozma as next culinary director

Last month, Amor Healing Kitchen in West Ashley announced that local chef Mimi Kozma had been named Culinary Director of the beloved local nonprofit, which helps feed community members facing critical health challenges while also teaching local teen volunteers about the power of plant-based foods.
Kozma has been part of the AMOR family since its inception, volunteering alongside founding chef Justin Booher. Over the past year, she’s served as the Assistant Chef and Kitchen Manager at Amor, bringing her passion, creativity, and heart to every dish.
“We are thrilled for her to step into this full-time role leading our culinary program for the volunteers and clients,” says Maria Kelly, founder and executive director of Amor. “When you step into the kitchen, Mimi’s bright smile is infectious and her passion for plant based foods is inspiring,”
Kozma recently led two virtual cooking classes for Blackbaud employees as part of their corporate wellness program. With more than 150 participants from five countries, Kozma is already helping AMOR spread love and nourishment worldwide.
One standout? Kozma’s Tofu Piccata, a hit in the virtual classes and with Amor’s Grab & Grow Program.
“We believe Chef Mimi was truly born for this role. Her leadership will guide our kitchen with love and intention, and we couldn’t be more grateful to have her at the helm,” says Kelly.
