Thanksgiving is coming early to West Ashley as Edisto River Brewing Co. and Pepper’s Pressure Washing join forces for Birds & Brews, a community celebration that combines good food, good beer, and a whole lot of goodwill.

On Sunday, Nov. 23, Pepper’s Pressure Washing will give away 150 free turkeys to Charleston-area residents — no sign-ups, no requirements, just a simple way to say “thank you” to the community that supports local businesses all year long. While guests pick up their turkeys, they can enjoy craft beer, wine, or cider from Edisto River Brewing, with a portion of beer sales donated to the Lowcountry Food Bank.

Guests can also enjoy a taste of the South from Genesis Blue Water Soul Food Truck, along with live local music and the brewery’s family-friendly atmosphere. The day promises to serve up both soul food and soul work.

“We wanted to do something that brings people together and spreads a little joy before the holidays,” said Kevin Pepper, owner of Pepper’s Pressure Washing. “Everyone’s welcome. This is our way of giving back and saying how thankful we are for our Charleston neighbors.”

Pepper’s Pressure Washing has built its reputation not only on quality service but also on community involvement. Pepper has long believed in using his business to give back, supporting local families and events throughout the Charleston area. Partnering with Edisto River Brewing for Birds & Brews felt like a natural extension of that mission—neighbors helping neighbors and celebrating the season of gratitude together.

“We loved the idea immediately,” said Mary and Jason White, owners of Edisto River Brewing Co. “Community is at the heart of everything we do, and this event captures that perfectly — celebrating together while helping others.”

Edisto River Brewing Co. is a community-focused craft brewery in the West Ashley area, known for its small-batch beers, ciders, and seltzers, along with weekly events, live music, and seasonal markets. The brewery has become a local gathering place for friends, families, and beer lovers. It has also become regular home for nonprofit fundraisers and community causes.
