Last week the WAHS softball team competed in the Battle of the Bases Tournament. Lexi Thompson was named to the All-Tournament Team. During the tournament, she hit six doubles with a .600 batting average. Her coach Bobby Marion says Thompson’s outstanding defense helped the Wildcats win the tournament.
“Lexi has been playing softball at West Ashley High since the 7th grade. Her work ethic and dedication to the game have earned her the opportunity to play at the next level at Charleston Southern . She will be counted on to lead the team this year,” says Marion.
“I believe my biggest competition is myself. With that in mind, it pushes me to be better than I used to be,” says Thompson who has played softball for 12 years and looks forward to continuing to play the game next year for Charleston Southern University, where she plans to major in Education.
