The teachers at Springfield Elementary make an effort to expose their students to the world of work tohelp broaden their perspectives and expand their interests in all types of careers.
Each year, Springfield Elementary provides an opportunity for its students to be exposed and explore various types of careers through our Career Day, where members of the community come and talk to the students about their jobs. This year there were more than 30 career day speakers.
Somet 5th grader students had the opportunity to go to Boeing for the DreamLearner Tour. The program helps to get the next generation excited about building the airplanes of the future while other classrooms had visits from Robert Sturnam, Charleston County School District Facilities Supervisor; Charlton Singleton, Conductor/Artistic Director of the Charleston Jazz Orchestra; Megan Fisher & Ms. Kendra McCabe of the Charleston Childrens’ Museum, and Julia Gandara Coastal Kids Dental, and many others.
