SPRINGFIELD STUDENT DROPS THE PUCK AT 'RAYS GAME

Springfield Elementary School student Kayla Foster sold the most S.C. Stingrays tickets during a pre-season fundraiser in conjunction with the local hockey squad. As a result, she was invited to drop the puck at a recent game, with a few dozen of her classmates in attendance to cheer her on. The Springfield Student Council was allowed to keep a portion of the ticket price for each ticket sold. The school's '09-'10 theme is "We're Aware and Taking Care of Ourselves, Each Other, Our Community, and Our World." With that in mind, students decided they wanted to donate their proceeds to a Haitian relief fund.
